I received a Bachelor of Science from Iowa Sate University in Dietetics and a Master of Science from Colorado State University in Health and Exercise Science. While at Colorado State University I was the primary instructor for several undergraduate classes. This is where I developed a passion for teaching. Subjects I taught included physiology, exercise testing and instrumentation, scientific writing, exercise psychology, and others. I taught using a variety of different tools– Powerpoint presentations, handouts, and lots of hands-on activities. I quickly learned that the enthusiasm my students expressed for a particular subject was a direct reflection of the enthusiasm I expressed while teaching. If I was not excited about something, neither were they and vice versa. I am passionate about getting students excited about learning and helping them succeed. My educational background is primarily in sciences; however, my favorite subject growing up was math. I excelled in math and I am eager to help others excel as well.
When not in school or working I enjoy all the wonders of Colorado, including hiking and skiing. I love to travel, dance, cook, and watch football.
