I am a graduate of California State Polytechnic University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a minor in Microbiology. After graduation, I worked as a substitute teacher for grades K-12. I then worked full time at a private high school, teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physical Science, while taking classes towards my teaching credential at California State University, Los Angeles. I stopped pursuing a teaching career when I decided to pursue a career in law. I received my JD from Santa Clara University Law School in 1993. I practiced law in Northern California for 17 years and gained a lot of experience in legal writing.
Because I never lost my love of teaching, I tutored students in Science and Math at my son’s then middle school. I also tutored a few law students, assisting them with their substantive courses, legal writing, and with moot court arguments. I am currently an LSAT tutor. The LSAT can be an intimidating test, but it can be mastered once a student understands how best to approach each type of question. I enjoy helping others think critically, guiding them in reaching that “ah ha” moment of understanding for themselves, and believe that all of this is best done with patience and a sense of humor. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, gardening, DIY projects, watching good TV, watching my son play baseball, walking my friend’s dog, attempting to cook well, and playing bocce ball.
