I graduated Los Angeles Pierce College with an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts with a major in Psychology. Shortly thereafter, I began serving my community as a 911 Operator/Police Dispatcher. In the course of my training there, I met a Forensic Print Specialist and discovered a passion for the multitude of ways science helps solve crimes. I returned to Pierce College, and later transferred to California State University, to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. I was a forensic print specialist until an injury led me to pursue other studies. I returned to Pierce College to study American Sign Language. Along the way, I discovered a passion for tutoring. My favorite subject to tutor is math, but I also enjoy English and essay writing. I currently work part time for a non-profit organization that provides supplemental educational services to K-12 students in need of one-on-one assistance in English language arts or math as part of the “No Child Left Behind” act. I am a firm believer in instilling confidence by showing students that they have ability and encouraging them to challenge themselves. My other passions include dogs – especially my girl, a purebred maltese – music, dancing, movies, and theatre.
