I am a recent graduate of U.C. Berkeley with a B.A. in Anthropology, and I am now working towards obtaining my social studies teaching credential. Before transferring to U.C. Berkeley, I attended Sacramento City College and worked in the college writing lab as a tutor. I had the pleasure of tutoring a diverse range of writing-related subjects and an even more diverse ensemble of students, from native speakers to English Language Learners, students fresh out of high school to adult re-entry. Currently, I also volunteer in a public high school social studies classroom. I most enjoy tutoring history, literature, and writing skills, as well as various forms of test prep. My goal after every session is not only to have answered all of the student's questions, but also to have equipped the student with the tools necessary to reason through similar questions in the future. I believe that anyone can hurdle any academic obstacle once they have been provided with effective processes, methods, and tools. When I'm not tutoring, I like to play board games, read about fashion, and attempt to cook.
