My goal as an educator is to share my passion and expertise for reading and writing with all my students. Whether composing essays or mastering test-taking strategies, students will learn to engage deeply with their work and will learn something of themselves in the process. While assisting students with their schoolwork or college admissions materials, I always emphasize the importance of developing long-term academic strategies over mindless memorization. These are the skills that young learners need to succeed in school, get into college, and eventually become successful professionals.
I possess a Bachelor of Arts in English from Portland State University, as well as a Master of Arts in Learning Technology via Pepperdine University. I currently freelance as a consultant, developing educational materials for software firms. When I’m not working, I love taking advantage of everything our city has to offer, especially the magnificent hiking trails and the local food culture.
