I graduated from Columbia University with a degree in Applied Physics. Even before I completed my four years of undergraduate studies I began devoting my time to mentoring and tutoring immigrant children in the tri-state area. Having myself immigrated to the United States at the age of 12, I found great satisfaction in assisting those with not only academic needs but those with a need to assimilate into this country. I have since then tutored children of all ages, including first graders, high school seniors and even young college students. While I tutor a wide range of subjects including Spanish and history, I am most passionate about math, biology, and physics. I believe it is essential for everyone to have sound analytical and reasoning skills in order to perform well in every aspect of life, as a result, I strive to impart in all of my students not only a thorough understanding of these subjects, but also a deep appreciation for them. Currently, I plan to pursue a doctorate degree in physics with the dream of becoming a professor in the near future. In my spare time, I enjoy outdoor and physical activities, you can often find me playing a friendly pick-up basketball game in one of your local parks, or when I feel more adventurous, enjoying the challenges of white water rafting in one of the many rapids in the tri-state area.
