I am a graduate of University of the Pacific. I initially entered as part of the 2+3 Accelerated Pre-Dental program, but I switched majors and attained a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Medicine. Now I am pursuing a degree in actuary. Since graduating, I taught English to rural elementary school children in Korea as part of a government-sponsored program. Through this program, I was at the same time able to have the opportunity to travel the world going to Korea, China, Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia. It was an incredible experience that I will always cherish and I look forward to travelling more in the future.
I am very willing and able to tutor on the SAT and up to high-school level English and Math. During my experience in Korea, many students could not even speak or read English. Many were apprehensive and even against learning the language due to their lack of knowledge and interest. Through repetition and support, I was able to see the pride, accomplishment, and joy in students' faces when they were able to learn and recognize things that even they themselves may not have thought possible, and that is a great feeling. I hope to foster that same sort of feeling while I tutor. I've also been on the other side as a tutoree, being extensively tutored for the SAT so I know what it's like to feel the pressure of this exam, so I hope to make that weight lighter and easier.
Outside of studying to be an actuary, in my free time I love to play basketball, go to the gym, eat good food, read, and listen to music.
