I am a graduate of Florida State University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with minors in both Psychology and Business Management. I am currently a Doctor of Physical Therapy student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Two years ago I became a 200-hour registered yoga teacher, and I have been teaching vinyasa yoga since then. I have a passion for biology and the physiology of the human body, and my love of problem solving has also led me to enjoy math and the sciences. Education has been an incredibly important part of my life and I want to help the younger generation discover and value its importance.

Q & A
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
During the first session, I figure out the student's preferred method of learning. I also coach them on good study techniques and the goals of our future tutoring sessions.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I can help a student to stay motivated by proving to them the importance of the subject and real-life application of the information being learned.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I continually explain concepts to students in new ways, even if the student seems to understand the concept. I begin by explaining the information, and then I will compare the concept to something in everyday life that the student already understands. I will then ask them closed-ended questions to assure basic understanding, and eventually I will ask them to solve a problem using the concept. I frequently assure that the student does not feel discouraged. I always aim to promote a positive view of the subject matter, as I believe this is very important.
