I hold a BA in Psychology with a German minor from Indiana State University, an MS in Counseling Psychology from Benedictine University, and a PhD in General Psychology from Capella University. I have worked with students in a variety of capacities for the past seventeen years, including creating and administering German tutoring clubs and classes for homeless and at-risk students. I also served for six years as the Director and Lead Teacher for a pre-school. As an alumnus of Indiana State University, I developed and co-facilitated its German Summer Honors Program for high school students. I also volunteered for many years in a residential facility for children with developmental disabilities. For the past decade, I have been an independent contractor in Illinois, providing individual mental health counseling in schools. I tutor German, Psychology, and academic writing and research. I have especially enjoyed tutoring German, as I believe that foreign languages are inseparable from culture, and opening up students to literacy in cultures gives them added perspective on their own world and developing personalities.
