I am a graduate of Duke University. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Sociology with a Minor in Spanish. During my senior year at Duke I tutored 6th grade ESL students in Reading Comprehension and Writing. This experience sparked my passion for helping students reach their academic goals. I now tutor a broad range of subjects, which include English, Spanish, and standardized test prep. I am most passionate about tutoring students in reading and writing. I have found that the skills needed to excel in these areas can be some of the most beneficial in helping students succeed in their future endeavors, whether they are academic or professional. The utility of academic skills is something that I emphasize with all of the students I tutor, with the hope of not only helping students but also developing a passion for further academic growth. Outside of academia, I like to stay busy with activities such as reading, practicing yoga, playing basketball, and traveling to new and exciting places.
