I am a 4th year Undergraduate at the University of California - Irvine, and I am currently majoring in Biology. I have been a UCI Bio Sci Peer Tutor for two years, helping my fellow undergraduates excel in their biology courses. This program required me to host tutoring sessions as well as review sessions, where I presented detailed explanations of topics in order to prepare my tutees for their exams. I also volunteer at a program called Karate for All, where I help special needs children learn karate with hands-on guidance. This program has really helped me become an effective communicator. Both of these experiences have greatly impacted the way I teach, and I've learned that all people are unique learners. Some enjoy visual stimulation, while others prefer a more interactive approach. I am able to adapt to the specific needs of each individual, which has proven to be very helpful with my students. When I'm not conducting research, volunteering, or studying, I love going out to eat, rock climbing, running, or doing yoga.
