I received my MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Central Florida. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Chicago. While I attended UCF, I taught junior high students outside of the classroom in a small workshop setting as well as in a pilot journalism program. I also taught a small after-school class for students ranging from ages 5-16. My tutoring passions are in the subject of English, specifically in writing, college essays, essay editing and grammar and mechanics. When it comes to tutoring, everyone comes with their own strengths, so my job is to help build on those strengths to further academic success. Every student is different, so I believe in making our time together "kid-centric." I believe learning happens all the time, both inside and outside of the classroom, and it doesn't have to be boring or torturous--it can actually be fun. In my spare time, I enjoy reading all sorts of books, including memoirs and graphic novels, going to the beach, going to museums, exploring new neighborhoods and restaurants, and rooting for the Chicago Bears and the Crimson Tide.
