I grew up in Orange County and attended Oxford Academy for junior high and high school. I received my undergraduate education at UC Santa Barbara, where I completed a double major in Asian Studies (with emphasis in Chinese) and Law and Society. In addition to the double major, I also have a minor in Classics (Greek/Roman literature, culture, history and Latin). I genuinely love learning - learning for myself and helping others learn - and I am particularly passionate about subjects pertaining to reading, writing and Chinese. My teaching philosophy centers on building a solid foundation of comprehension because knowledge, just like good habits, is cumulative. Prior to joining Varsity Tutors, I tutored elementary students in math and reading for a nonprofit after-school program in Cypress, CA.
Outside of tutoring, I work in the legal field and I am also a seasonal camp counselor at Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, where I teach fun. In my spare time, I love to read, hike, do yoga, play the piano, and spend quality time with my loved ones and my dog.
