I am a recent graduate of the UCLA Political Science Ph.D. Program, one of the top programs for political science and quantitative research. I also received my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in political science at UCLA. While in graduate school, I have served as a Teaching Assistant/Fellow for 11 different courses in the UCLA Political Science Department, instructing over 500 students of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds. In this position, I led weekly discussion sections and tutored students during my office hours, providing study tips and offering instructional feedback on student essays and research papers. I have received consistently high student evaluations in these classes, and in 2013, the Political Science Department nominated me for the UCLA Teaching Award Competition, an honor that does not occur every year. In addition to having extensive experience teaching at the university level, I have volunteered as a teacher’s aide at Ramona Elementary School in Montclair, California, helping third grade students develop reading, writing and math skills. Through original research and extensive course work over the years, I have become an expert in international relations, American politics, comparative politics, Middle East politics and advanced statistics. I tutor a variety of subjects, but I am especially passionate about politics, U.S. and world history, math and writing. I also derive a lot of satisfaction helping students cultivate critical thinking skills and equipping them with the tools necessary to achieve their learning goals. Outside of academia, I enjoy hiking, reading history, going to the gym, traveling and watching college football and basketball.
