I graduated summa cum laude from Ball State University in 2011. I earned my BA in Psychology with a minor in business management. I am currently working towards a certificate in brewing science.
Since graduating from Ball State, I have primarily been employed as a tutor in Louisville, KY. I have spent my time helping students in two areas: test preparation and homework/organizational help. I feel most accomplished with my work with students preparing for the ACT. In one on one sessions, I help students recognize and remember strategies that are helpful across various tests. I have extensive experience helping students identify their own strengths with the goal of applying these skills and improving weak areas. I also have experience tutoring middle and high school academic subjects, primarily in math and science.
As a tutor, my teaching style is straightforward. I demonstrate the concepts, work through practice problems with the student, and allow the student to teach the concept back to me. Mastery is gained through this reiterative process.
In my spare time, I like to play and watch sports, particularly basketball and football. I also cook and brew often, and I love trying new recipes.
