I am an undergraduate at the University of Miami for my B.S in Biomedical Engineering with minors in math and chemistry. I'v been tutoring for five years now, and I have a lot of experience tutoring in math and science. I tutor all levels of math up to differential equations as well as Chemistry and physics in addition to the SAT and ACT. My tutoring involves embedding and building on a solid foundation of understanding. In all of the subjects I tutor, I emphasize structured and rigorous practice sets to really drill in the knowledge. I build an individualized plan for each student based on their desired goals and their pace and personally prep before every session I have.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
I work to help students understand difficult concepts. By understanding the concepts behind the math, science, and reading subjects, my students can succeed in their classes or tests, as well as build a solid foundation for more advanced classes and their future careers.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I usually go over the goals they want from our sessions and then dive right into the course material.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
A lot of the subjects I teach require just practicing with the various concepts. By assigning homework to do outside of the tutoring session, I can foster a sense of independent learning and a rigor in academics that lasts beyond my working with the student.
