I recently graduated from the College of William & Mary with an undergraduate degree in Religious Studies and a minor in Theatre. I have a diverse background in tutoring and childhood education in a variety of subjects, including extensive experiencing in teaching Spanish, particularly at the middle school and early high school levels, and experience tutoring language arts and writing. I love languages, and also speak and teach French—and Arabic! I have worked with a wide age range of students, from elementary to high school. My goal as a tutor is to foster the love of learning for learning’s sake in my students; even when teaching standardized test prep, I believe the focus should be on engaging with the subject matter, not just on “gaming” the test! I enjoy tailoring each study session to the student’s individual needs, and working to discover the very best ways to help each student advance in their understanding of a given subject. I endeavor to make learning a fun and accessible experience by incorporating a variety of teaching tools and styles. When my nose isn’t buried in a book, I enjoy acting, knitting, SCUBA diving, and watching “Doctor Who.” I look forward to helping your student achieve his or her academic best!
