I earned my BA and BFA from the University of Maine at Farmington, my MFA in writing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and have held nationally-competitive post-graduate fellowships from Stanford University and the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing. I have worked with a large diversity of students, from ESL middle school students in Bangkok, Thailand; at-risk high school students for Upward Bound; undergraduates at Stanford University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and University of Maine; inmates at a medium-security men's prison; and accelerated high and middle school students for Stanford EPGY, Northwestern CTD, and Duke TIP summer programs. My own writing has been published in over 50 nationally-recognized journals and magazines. I have been tutoring one-on-one students of all ages for the past 8 years. In my free time, I enjoy reading and writing poetry, jogging, and figure skating.
