I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. from the Plan II Honors program. Plan II is an interdisciplinary liberal arts major at UT. I’ve taught English in Taipei, Taiwan, where I learned useful techniques to teach ESL to a fun kindergarten class as well as after-school groups of elementary and middle school students. Working with students whose native language is not English was a great challenge and pleasure. It was enriching to see students grow with the language and build tangible skills to communicate in English. I enjoy working with students of various ages and always seek to tailor lessons for each individual, especially by finding ways for students to have ownership in their studies.
I have a passion for the English language and literature and am a published poet. I also have strong interests in movies, music and art, I’ve co-written and co-directed an independent feature film. My goal is to go to graduate school for creative writing in the future.
