I graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in secondary mathematics education. I am a licensed high school mathematics teacher in the state of Missouri and have taught for four years. I also worked for over three years as a tutor in the mathematics department for undergraduate math classes. I have also worked privately as a tutor in high school and college mathematics as well as ACT prep.
I tutor all levels of math from middle school through calculus. I also tutor test prep for the ACT and various other standardized tests. My favorite subject to tutor is geometry because there is so much opportunity to awaken wonder. As a tutor, my role isn't to spoon-feed answers for memorization. I desire for every student to understand the concepts at work and build the critical thinking skills necessary for the next big test and the rest of life.
However, I promise that I'm not a complete math nerd. I love to play sports, particularly Frisbee and running. I'm a huge Cardinals fan. Beyond sports I'm known to write poetry and make a pretty tasty batch of chocolate chip cookies!
