I am a recent graduate of Hollins University, where I received my Bachelors of Arts in French and International Studies. As a student I was particularly drawn to French cultural studies and had the opportunity to present my International Studies thesis on Franco-Maghrebi Rap at Hollins University's Annual Student Conference this past may. I have lived in the cities of Paris and Tours, France and love sharing my experiences and knowledge of French language, politics, geography, history, literature, art, cuisine, and music with students of all ages. On Hollins University campus I served as President of the French House where I worked alongside housemates, the French department, and Housing and Residence life to put on campus educational events, as well as to facilitate a language immersion experience within the house. I enjoy working with children and young adults and have served in diverse educational settings as a Student Success Leader, teacher's assistant, and swimming instructor. My priority as a tutor and instructor is to address the needs of my students and to find an approach to the material that works with their learning style. I believe everyone has the capacity to succeed, so I strive to be a patient listener and use a diverse array of teaching strategies to explain course material. I am particularly passionate about tutoring French, however I am also excited to have this opportunity to prepare students for their SAT's and reach their goals of pursuing higher education in a diverse range of subjects.
