I am a graduate of The College of William and Mary with a double major in Public Policy and Environmental Science. I am currently completing my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with the University of Colorado Denver with a concentration in online learning. I believe in a student-centered approach to learning, one that draws on the experiences of the learner to build a solid foundation and natural curiosity that drives the learner towards enduring understandings. I have worked with students ages 5-16 and taught both lower elementary and middle school. My academic passions include science, American history, government, and literacy instruction. I've directed a literacy tutoring center for struggling beginning readers and am passionate about teaching reading skills at all age levels. Additionally, I have experience with successful testing on the SAT, ACT, AP, and SAT II subject tests.
