I am passionate about teaching others to enhance their skills as writers, readers, and students. There is no greater joy than in assisting others in becoming more confident and encouraging them to continue growing as scholars.
I am a graduate of California State University, Sacramento. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with a literature concentration and a minor in history. Recently, I completed a Masters of Arts Degree in English Literature.
Helping others to enhance their writing abilities has always been a passion of mine. I have been tutoring others for over 15 years and my students have ranged from four years old to seniors in college. In my most recent job as an Instructional Student Assistant for English 109x at CSU Sacramento, I taught college students, many of whom were multilingual, how to improve their writing abilities, which heightened my awareness of the language and cultural differences of each of my students. I tutored students in their development of researching, drafting, writing, revising, and editing skills and strategies.
I believe we should never stop learning. Excellent reading and writing skills are integral to a successful career. I strive to help my students gain a love for reading, writing, and literature and to become more confident in their abilities as readers and writers. I adapt my teaching strategies based on the needs of each student because everyone learns differently.
I tutor English, reading, writing, literature, and public speaking. My favorite subjects to tutor are reading, writing, and literature which have always been the hobbies I am most passionate about.
Outside of reading and writing, my other hobbies include crafting (scrapbooking, sewing, knitting, etc), cooking/baking, and traveling.
