Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

Come prepared with questions, and we will make the most out of the session. Ask whatever you are not 100% sure about, no matter how silly the question might seem to you, there are no silly questions. We will work to get to that 100%.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I would like to get to know the students, and listen to them in what they are struggling with and need help with. After, I create a specific plan with the student to tackle difficulties.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

I provide resources that I have found useful in my own studies and that students let me know about. YouTube is my #1 friend.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Go over it using a different approach. Reviewing more basic concepts is usually very helpful.

What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?

Asking them lots of questions to make sure we both are engaged and focused. Also, it helps to get feedback from students to modify my tutoring plans according to their needs.
