I graduated from Northern Arizona University, where I received my Masters of Science in Geology with a focus on thermal remote sensing. Before that, I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Geology from California State University Sacramento. I worked with the United States Geological Service for 3 years in water sampling/quality. During my time in graduate school, I taught five geological subjects, from introductory geology to upper level geology. I enjoyed teaching introductory level classes the most because many students had not been introduced to hard science and watching their interests and curiosity grow was very rewarding. Aside from geology and earth sciences, I am able to teach elementary math up through Algebra II. I tutored elementary math in high school as a volunteer and thoroughly enjoyed that as well. I believe a high level education is one of the most important assets to being a complete person. In my spare time I like reading and doing outdoor activities, hiking, camping, disc golf, and most of all playing with my dog Lola.
