I am a career educator who has a passion for assisting students of all abilities in achieving success in their academic pursuits, whether it is inside the classroom or tutoring at home. Presently I am a special education and history teacher in the North Shore area. I have been in various education roles and settings for nearly ten years. During this time I have come to learn and appreciate the fine art that is teaching. I currently hold special education and history certifications in Maine and Massachusetts. Additionally, I did a teacher's certification program, ETEP, through the University of Southern Maine, which helped me to develop my teaching skills and gave me a number of tools to help educate all learners. I have a Masters degree in history from Northeastern University and a Masters degree in special education from the University of Southern Maine.

My other work experiences, such as camp director for summer program, assisting individuals with developmental disabilities, and leading tours on Boston's famed Freedom Trail, have also helped me to develop practical knowledge that helps me to reach a variety of age groups and abilities. In my current capacity as both a special education teacher and a history teacher I have gained even more experience in curriculum development and implementing lessons that work toward helping students achieve the Massachusetts Core Standards in English and history. In my current position I teach individually in both the general and special education setting as well as collaboratively with colleagues in a co-teaching format. My unique blend of educational and work experience, both in education and history, gives me a unique perspective on education and gives me a variety of tools to assist various age groups and abilities in a number of subject areas.
In conclusion, my experiences have given me a variety of skills and tools to educate students of all ages and abilities.
