I graduated with a BS in Biology from Rhode Island College in the spring of 2013. Following a summer research position, I moved to San Diego to begin a Master's program in Cell & Molecular Biology. I study the regulatory networks that govern the genetic program of cell differentiation. My near future plans include applying into the PhD program. My goal is to be a research professor.
During my undergraduate degree, I tutored many students in biology and chemistry, where my practices and approaches felt very well received. My tutoring hours were highly sought after, demand outstripping supply. I enjoyed it very much, and often would spend much time off the clock with students having lengthy discussions about whatever subject we had been working on. At present, I am mentoring an undergraduate biology major in my lab. I have taught him many molecular biology techniques, as well as teaching him the thinking that goes into the decisions along the way.
In my limited spare time, I enjoy hiking, surfing, bird watching, and highly enjoy reading.
