I am a senior at the University of California, Berkeley. I am completing a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a minor in English. My focuses are in poverty and disability studies, American Literature, and sex and gender studies. When not working on my degree, I am applying to graduate school (working towards a PhD in Sociology) and conducting my own sociological research, which I on occasion present at research symposiums and research conventions. I am happy to tutor a broad array of subjects, but my favorite subjects to tutor are English, Literature, Sociology, Philosophy, and Anthropology. I find that writing a quality college essay, regardless of the subject, is one of the most important skills that most of my students need help with. It is also one of my favorite subjects to help students master. As a lifelong academic, I believe a quality education is absolutely crucial to one's success in the modern era, and I believe a quality education is only worthwhile when paired with a student's love of learning. For this reason, I find instilling and supporting a love of learning in my students to be the most rewarding aspect of teaching. In my spare time, I love a good graphic novel, cooking elaborate meals, and playing fetch with my dog.
