I am a current 4th grade math teacher at a public school in Houston. In May of 2013, I graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in education. Additionally, I am certified to teach early childhood education through grade 6 in general education as well as special education in the state of Texas. I am originally from Taiwan and my primary language is Mandarin Chinese. Learning and teaching language studies have always been one of my greatest passions. I have also been tutoring a small group of students in Chinese for four years. I love teaching and nothing can satisfy me more then when I see my students learning and improving. I believe that an outstanding teacher tries to understand the needs and goals of his/her students, supports them and helps them reach their goals. I also believe that a teacher should understand and embrace that every student is different and every student can learn. The role of a teacher is to lead their students to the path of success. In my spare time, I like to cook, read and spend time with my family.
