I am an English and History teacher with ten years of classroom experience. Prior to beginning my teaching career, I was a private tutor for students k-12. I have taught every level of English (7-12) as well as every level of History (7-12). I have taught Advanced, College Prep and ELL classes as well as students with a variety of learning disabilities. I think that one of the things that makes me a unique teacher is that I equally love reading, writing and history. I try to incorporate all three in every class that I teach. I also have experience as both an Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate teacher, as well as teaching Speech and Debate. I had students competing at the local, state, national and circuit levels. I currently teach IB History, IB Psychology and Honors Comparative Government and Economics.
I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Political Science and Law and Society, and I minored in History. I received my teaching credential and Masters Degree from Chapman University. I love learning about history and current events and seeing how the past is relevant in the present and the future.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, seeing concerts and attending sporting events. I also like to spend time cooking with family and friends.
