I am a graduate of UCSD with a double major in Economics and Mathematics and minor in International Studies. For the past year and a half, I've been a volunteer at Reality Changers, where I mentor and tutor San Diego inner city high schoolers who aspire to be first generation college students. I am also part of the English in Action program at UCSD, where I meet with international students to improve their English conversational skills. These experiences have opened my eyes to the importance of education and made me want to delicate more time to help students in need. I'm extremely passionate about my academics, especially math. I believe that the education system makes math seem intimidating, so not only do I want to help students understand math, but I also want them to see the beauty behind it. I am also a good writer, having won a writing award at my college that is only given to less than five percent of the student body. Moreover, I'm a fluent Mandarin speaker. Outside of academics, I have an interest in fashion and have been the event coordinator for a fashion magazine at UCSD for the past two years. I'm currently exploring a future career in marketing.

Q & A
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would try to get to know the student personally first so that he/she feels more comfortable letting me know what areas I can help with.
