I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) with a Bachelor's degree in Integrative Biology. I am currently preparing to apply to graduate school (Nurse practitioner programs). I have been working as a tutor for 2.5 years; mainly with high school and middle school students. I have worked with students of different cultural backgrounds and academic needs. The subjects I tutor in are: basic/elementary math, pre-algebra, algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, trigonometry, calculus, and biology. From all these subjects, my favorite to tutor is any math subject. I enjoy working with numbers and finding different methods of teaching math concepts so that students can understand and enjoy the learning session. If I had to describe my tutoring style, it would be a student-centric style. I understand that each student is different, with different learning capacities and levels. With this in mind, I focus on figuring out what learning method works best for the student and utilize it. A side from work and school, I really enjoy to go hiking, running, exercising and doing step-aerobics.
