I served in the U.S. Air Force for six years as a Military Police Officer, where I had the privilege of traveling all over the world on different important missions and tasks. My favorite place to live was South Korea, but Germany was also pretty amazing.
I graduated community college with three A.A.'s in Sociology, Anthropology, and Liberal Arts. Shortly thereafter, I attended the University of Southern California. I am a proud Trojan, born and raised in Los Angeles. At USC, I had the opportunity to win several fellowships and scholarships, which enabled me to design, conduct, and complete my own independent, undergraduate research. After a year and a half of field study, I graduated USC with an Honors Thesis. Luckily for me, I was able to present my research across the U.S. at various universities. Within this time, I have tutored both young students and adults in Spanish up to the AP and college level. As a native Spanish speaker, I am confident in my ability to read, write and speak Spanish fluently. I have also tutored student from K-12, college students and adults in English, Grammar, Essay Writing & Editing, Reading and Writing. The most satisfying part about tutoring for me is seeing the end result in a student as they learn the mechanics of a subject.
I have a passion for teaching, but more importantly, for understanding students and their needs as it pertains to learning abilities, cultural backgrounds and areas of study that need support. I hope to be able to meet you and begin what is sure to be an engaging learning opportunity.
