I am a science teacher with seven years of experience in both California and Texas. I have taught Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Environmental Science. I studied Animal Science at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and earned my Master's degree in Wildlife Science at Texas A & M. I have a passion for science and I love sharing my enthusiasm with kids. I believe students learn best when they have visuals and hands on materials to manipulate. I learned the true value of hands on learning while studying Animal Science at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Cal Poly's motto is learn by doing and this is truly a reflection of how they teach. For example I learned anatomy by studying live horses and engineering by driving tractors. I strive to incorporate as many real life experiences into my lesson as possible. A lesson has far more value to a student when it's something they can relate to and has a purpose. When I am not teaching I enjoy many outdoor activities like camping, hiking and paddle boarding.
