I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with High Honors in English. Currently, I am pursuing my dream to teach English Literature at an university and hope to earn both a Masters and Doctoral degree from Stanford University. I have seven years of experience tutoring middle school, high school and college students in the subjects that I am most passionate about English, Literature and History. My tutoring style is highly collaborative: I love to engage students in lively discussions about literature, to raise questions about texts and to find evidence that supports the various interpretations that can be derived from a piece of writing. I am dedicated to helping individuals enjoy the process of becoming the strongest readers and writers she or he can be my goal is for each tutoring session to be fun, enriching and, most importantly, to build the student's skill set and confidence. When assisting with essays and critical reading assignments, I emphasize the importance of discovery in the writing process: by working together to develop a solid argument, refine drafts, and choose the best words and ways to convey the student's ideas, I aim to increase the student's awareness of her/his own interests, opinions and means of substantiating those points. I am committed to supporting students and strengthening the foundation for their future success by providing frameworks and methods that can be applied to other assignments and subjects. In my spare time, I enjoy fashion (especially, shoes), yoga, hiking, cooking, baking, reading contemporary literature, driving fast cars, and playing backgammon.
