Growing up on the sandy Jersey Shore, I moved to the chilly Midwest to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and earn a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, I moved to Chicago and worked in management & technology consulting to help Fortune 500 companies and large nonprofits navigate their complex organizational problems. I am now an MBA student at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management and very happy to be attending school so close to the Windy City I love to call home. If I'm not studying, you may find me framing a picture behind the lens of my grandfather's vintage film camera, learning a new song on my guitar, or dodging traffic on my bicycle.

Starting in high school and continuing through college, I worked as a tutor at a private learning center as well as University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign academic services centers. Currently, I volunteer as a writing advisor and tutor at a local nonprofit organization focused on expanding creative writing skills through workshops and after-school programming. In my tutoring experiences, I have found that the process of tutoring others is a personal learning opportunity for me as well. Each student is unique in his/her learning approach and tutoring forces me to see problems through the eyes of the student, to challenge myself to widen my own perspective, and to innovate methods in explaining complex concepts. My goal for each tutoring session is to truly dialogue with the student and encourage him/her to discuss the underlying principles behind each lesson, not just listen to a lecture.

I have attended informational sessions and all-day campus visits. I have stressed over application deadlines and scrutinized single sentences in my application essays. I have gone through the arduous MBA journey myself. After persevering through the MBA application process first-hand, I understand how the GMAT fits in the bigger picture and hope to share as much as I can with students to help them outside of their GMAT preparation.
