I am a graduate of Drexel University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a concentration in Organismal Physiology. Currently, I am pursuing a future in the field of physical therapy with the aspiration of completing the doctorate program. During my time at Drexel University, I spent my summers mentoring and tutoring incoming ninth grade students through the Summer Bridge Program at the neighborhood high school. Following the school's last summer program, I was invited to return in September to the high school to tutor throughout the school year. In addition to the tutoring, I assisted the classroom teacher by providing small group instruction to 3-6 students. While I tutored a wide variety of subjects with the students, I was most passionate about math, science, and writing. There are many fun, unique, and exciting opportunities provided in the city for children of all ages, in the world of science. The first step in embracing these opportunities is a basic understanding in science as a whole within a fun filled, yet constructive setting. Through my experience teaching science to young students, I found that breaking down the sciences to its basics, learning new topics became fun as a result and understanding the material became a lot easier. As I reviewed the topics with the students using games and memorizing activities, the material became more consistent, and their test preparation methods quickly developed into efficient study sessions. Every student is entitled to receiving the best education possible; with this in mind I take the time with each student to effectively communicate the subject at hand. In my spare time, I enjoy playing sports, watching movies, meeting up with friends, and going to concerts.
