Being a tutor is a great role for me because I love teaching people. I started out in high school by tutoring younger students and all through college and graduate school I taught classes, ran study groups, and even became co-director of an after-school science education/tutoring program for high school students.
I have obtained my Bachelor's Degree from UCLA in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. Recently, I completed my Ph.D. in Genetics from UC Davis. I am available to tutor in many subjects, but my specialties are biological sciences and math. Besides tutoring, my interests include dance, cooking/baking, yoga and reading.
My tutoring style is focused on a lot of interaction and communication between you and I. I like to help you reach a solution by asking the right kind of questions that will guide you to figuring out the answers yourself. Not only is this a more dynamic way of teaching, it will help you retain the information better and longer than traditional methods. It might require more work and commitment from you, but you will definitely come out of our session with a better understanding of your subject.
I look forward to working with you!
