I have a Doctorate in Physics from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor's Degree from a liberal arts college in Ohio. I taught the equivalent of AP Physics at Cornell University, college physics as an Assistant Professor at Miami University in Ohio, and electrical engineering at San Diego State University. I have a broad industrial experience, from lasers to satellite thrusters, with a history of successful work with both technical and non-technical coworkers. Throughout my experience, I have enjoyed working with younger staff. I enjoyed helping them work through analysis and experiments, explaining the physics in terms which connect to their experience. I believe that connection is key to successful tutoring – the physics must connect to the student’s interests and skill set. The tutor should engage the student’s interest, help them utilize their strengths, and compensate for their weakness.
