I am a California native who went to college near Philadelphia and I am excited to be back in the Bay Area. I graduated from Swarthmore College where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry with a minor in Biology. I plan to continue my education by pursuing a medical degree in the near future.
I have been tutoring in different capacities and subjects for over five years. I have worked with students ranging from elementary school to college in a variety of topics, including basic literacy, math, biology, chemistry, standardized test preparation, and essay composition and editing. I love discussing science and the principles of math and logic that inform research and discovery. My interest in the written word has allowed me to gain fluency in using the English language for communication of complex ideas.
I am passionate about knowledge in all of its forms, from understanding new concepts to solving problems through applications of familiar ideas. One of my goals as a tutor is sharing the excitement of learning and the ways in which it can open new worlds of inquiry. I aim to provide a framework for success in future academic endeavors by building up a set of skills and strategies for dealing with novel problems.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, dancing, spending time with my large family, exploring new places, and wandering my favorite corners of San Francisco. I look forward to meeting new students through Varsity Tutors!
