I have many years of experience working one-on-one with students of all ages to encourage a love of learning and to lay the foundation of skills necessary for academic achievement. I focus heavily on study skills and writing. My favorite part of tutoring is developing a relationship with students to understand what motivates them and thinking about new and creative ways to present the material.
I am a graduate of the George Washington IB program, Smith College, Georgetown School of Foreign Service and Harvard School of Public Health. I have studied abroad at Oxford, in Mexico and Uruguay.
I learned how to coach students in applying for jobs, fellowships and graduate school while working at the Smith College Career Development Office.
I have extensive experience reviewing resumes, application essays and conducting mock interviews. I conduct official interviews for Smith College and Camp Rising Sun, an international leadership summer program for 14 and 15-year-olds.
I was a finalist for the Boren, Truman and Presidential Management Fellowship and a recipient of the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to Uruguay and the Health and Human Services Emerging Leader Fellowship to serve in the federal government in Washington, D.C.
I tutor in Reading, English, Writing, Spanish, History, Government, Civics, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology and International Relations. I also edit essays and tutor the Verbal sections of the SAT and GRE.
I enjoy travel, yoga, swing dancing, tango and hiking.
