I graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with my Bachelor of Science in Ornamental Horticulture with an emphasis in sales and service. I also completed several mathematics courses. Upon graduation, I worked in the field of sales for many years until I went back to school and obtained my Masters of Business from Woodbury University in Burbank. In 2001, I again decided to go back to school. I entered the teaching profession and have been teaching since 2002. I have been a 6th grade teacher for the last 12 years. I have taught Math, Science, English and Social Studies during the last 12 years, but my passion is Math. My greatest pleasure and challenge is opening up the world of mathematics to my students. I like opening their minds to the possibilities that they can do the work and allowing them the chance to explore the world of math. It is one of the most exciting parts of tutoring outside of my classroom setting. The key is patience, understanding, and support for the struggling student. The other passion I love to share with my students is the joy of reading. I love working with all types of students, as each one has a special gift and special needs. The best part of being a teacher is to determine what each student needs and to support them so that they may achieve their highest potential.
