I am a graduate of the College of Saint Benedict and hold a degree in English with minors in French and History. I recently completed my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential in California and am currently working toward completing my Master’s degree in Education. Upon my undergraduate graduation, I spent nine months in Puerto Rico as a volunteer teaching English as a Second Language to primary grades. Since my college career, I have worked with a range of students from ninth grade English grammar and mechanics to kindergarten phonics and reading. I currently teach kindergarten through fourth grade as an interventionist. There is not one subject area that I prefer over another because my philosophy for each subject area is the same: all students are capable of proficiency. As long as we believe that our children can succeed, hold them to high expectations, and create an environment that is differentiated based on their needs, they will be successful. With this philosophy in mind, tutoring in any subject area can be fun because it opens up a world of possibility for each and every single child.
