I am an avid reader, love to travel and experience foreign cultures and adventure every chance I get and am borderline addicted to being outdoors. As an undergrad I studied Peace and Conflict Studies initially, have an Associates Degree in Math and Science, a Bachelor's in Political Science and earned my Juris Doctorate from St. John's Law in 2012. I have been tutoring off and on for eighteen years and did a stint as a law journal mentor and editor, although I didn't go into teaching, I have always been an excellent and intuitive test taker and student and I really enjoy passing on those skills and knowledge to other people in a one-on-one setting. I think the most important part of teaching in any environment is the ability to look at, and explain, problems/questions/subjects in a variety of ways and discover what works best for the student. It is usually possible to make even the most mundane subjects or test preparations interesting (and, *gasp*, even enjoyable) if you think outside the box. In the past, I have worked with students of all ages, from three all the way through to college and feel especially confident tutoring all subjects for younger students, all levels of English language arts and grammar and test prep, including private school entrance exams, SATs, LSATs and GREs.
