I graduated with honors from Harvard College, where I majored in Social Studies and minored in English Literature. While in college I became the third generation in my family to teach when I joined Peer Health Exchange, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping teens confront the challenges of adolescence. Working in the Boston Public Schools, I realized being an effective educator means finding a way to speak to each student's curiosity, and that belief continues to guide my teaching. I put this philosophy to use as a tutor during my semester abroad in Paris, teaching English to both adults and young children, and then began tutoring math at the SAT level after graduating. It is the verbal side of things, however, that I most enjoy tutoring. I am fluent in French and can tutor it at all levels, and also enjoy tutoring all things English, including Essay Writing and revision, Grammar, Literature and Vocabulary. This, of course, includes the Verbal components of the GRE and the SAT. I personally love to write fiction, and have completed a collection of short stories, two of which have been published by university literary journals. I am now at work on a novel, and take time off from it to hike, cook, and bike.
