I graduated from Boston University this past May with BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. I volunteered as a tutor for a year in college, tutoring Reading, Writing, and Math to local high school students. Alternatively, I have also worked as a camp counselor at an overnight camp in Colorado, teaching middle-school aged children about the outdoors.
While most of my own background is related to Mathematics, I am also interested in working with students in French and essay editing. My favorite subject to tutor is anything related to Mathematics. There is always one right answer and I believe there is always a way to apply the abstract concepts learned in most math courses to real-life, relatable situations for the student.
I tutor because I love working with kids and helping them reach that "aha!" moment in their studies. I believe teaching abstract concepts and then applying those concepts to concrete situations for a student is the cornerstone of any successful lesson plan.
In my free time, I am an avid skier, runner, and hiker.
