I am currently a graduate student in Accounting, pursuing my MSA degree at San Francisco State College of Business. I work for a small, holistic accounting firm dedicated to providing comprehensive financial solutions to small business clients. My undergraduate degree is from UC Santa Cruz where I majored in Economics.
Accounting is a skill that draws heavily on many mathematical components including basic math, Algebra, and Statistics. While Accounting is my strongest subject, the nature of this field builds on fundamental knowledge of Statistics, Math, and Economics. Because of this I retain a working knowledge in all of these subjects, and I can help with academic theory as well as provide real world insight into the execution of these skills.
I have worked as a teacher's assistant in Economics and a research assistant in Econometric Analysis. I have also had hands-on experience in fields utilizing the skills from my Economics and Accounting course work. I plan on working closely with any students that choose me as their tutor. I believe in a hands-on approach, allowing students to work through problems themselves and then helping them out when they get stuck on something. I am happy to go slowly and practice as much as needed. I can work over Skype or in person.
