A native of Austin, Texas, I moved to California to attend the California Institute of Technology (better known as Caltech) from which I recently graduated with honors with a B.S. in Biomolecular Chemical Engineering. While at Caltech, I tutored disadvantaged high school students in Geometry and Chemistry and was a teaching assistant for several undergraduate courses. Currently I work as a research associate at Genentech and volunteer to help local-area elementary school students with Math, Science, and Reading.

With more than eight years of tutoring experience, I have helped students with both test preparation and various academic subjects. I particularly enjoy tutoring Physics, Chemistry, and Algebra. Although Math and Science are traditionally viewed as difficult subjects, I believe that once students realize that such subjects are not something to be afraid of, they excel very quickly. Seemingly daunting word problems can be broken down into manageable bits and solved very easily. I believe having this ability to dissect a problem into smaller portions is important not just for academics but for everyday tasks as well, and it is a useful skill for everyone to possess.

I am an avid traveler and self-proclaimed foodie. I love exploring new places around the Bay and sampling the local cuisine. During my travels, I often take photos of the food I eat, the scenery, and anything interesting that catches my eye. I also enjoy cooking, baking, and eating the food I make! In my spare time, I like to attend musicals and concerts, read books, and watch Asian dramas.
