I am a graduate of California State University Long Beach. I received B.A degrees in Political Science and International Studies with a concentration in Latin America. In addition I spent a summer in Antigua, Guatemala receiving one on one Spanish grammar and conversational lessons. I am currently fluent in Spanish reading, writing, and speech. Since finishing my studies I have been involved with helping students improve their academic performance in inner city Denver Public Schools. While working for Denver Public Schools I tutored small groups of 9th graders in a variety of subjects including Geography and taught 6th and 7th grade World History. While I am able to tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about World History, Spanish, and Literature. As a tutor I like to engage my students in connecting with the materials they are learning. I believe that an ability to relate with what is being learned, a customized tutoring experience, and consistent guidance helps cultivate the necessary skills for continuous progress.
