I am a 2010 graduate from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology. I am currently a Master's student at UCSF, working to become a pediatric nurse practitioner. Prior to UCSF, I worked part time as a tutor at a tutoring center in Southern California. My experience with teaching has primarily been with school age children, from kindergarten to middle school, and some high school students. The subjects I helped teach ranged from most elementary school subjects, such as grammar and arithmetic, to middle school subjects, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Essay Writing. Though I tutor in a variety of subjects, I enjoy teaching younger children to read and learn arithmetic; I also enjoy teaching middle school students with math and seeing their progress. I had a great time in my Anatomy class at UCLA and look forward to passing on the tricks I learned in school to my own students. Through my experiences as a tutor, I have developed a guiding style of teaching that allows students to form their own methods of learning. By allowing students to process information in their own way, they are able to absorb information more effectively and enjoyably.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring different music, reading, baking, and sewing. As a fairly new resident of San Francisco, I also like to sightsee around the city and try as many different foods as I can.
